MOREH, December 12: The 75th anniversary of Nupi Lal was also observed in the border town of Moreh today. It was jointly organised by Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh; Moreh Minority Development Society, Moreh; Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh and Muslim Women Development Association, Moreh.
The event was marked by a rally in the morning which was taken part by women folks. It was followed by a formal function in the afternoon, held at the premises of Kondong Lairembi, Moreh.
The function was attended by Th Ibemhal Leima, president of KNANL; Th Jamuna Devi, president of NKCLL; Jubeda Begum, president of MWDA; Nurbanu, vice president of MWDS. They were joined by M Thoiba Singh, president of Meetei Council, Moreh; O Lukhoi Sing, VP of All Community Development Organisation, Moreh; Md Hussain, president of Manipur Muslim Council, Moreh; Y Jotila Leima, advisor to NKCLL and N Nabakumar Meitei, president of all AMSU, Chandel District committee.
Ch Chandarsakhi Devi of Moreh College spoke on length about the relevance of observing Nupi Lal in the present day as the main speaker of the function. The presidium members also deliberated on the significance of Nupi Lal.
Prizes were handed away to the winners and participants of the rally held in the morning.
