JIRIBAM, December 10: As a part of the Nupilal Ningshing Numit Observation Committee, Jiribam under Imphal East District as part of the 75th Nupi Lal Ningshing Numit held a race for women today.
The race was held in two groups. One for women under 40 years and the other for women above 40 years.
The race was participated by a total of 128 women. Advisor of All Jiribam Meira Paibi, S. Sorojini Devi kicked off the above 40 race and participated by 73 women. Kh. Ibemma Devi, Harinagar won the 1st position, T.Tomanlei Devi took the 2nd and Y. Phajaton Devi took 3rd position. In the below 40 race, 55 women took part and the race was kicked off by Jiri Police SDPO, Y. Chandrakumar Singh. M. Sushila Devi, Ningthembam won the 1st position, L. Memi Devi, Champanagar-2nd position and L. Ruma Devi took the 3rd position.
Speaking to the media person, a leader of Meira Paibi said that the event is annually held in order to preserve the image of the mothers who saved the integrity of Manipur.
The Nupilal Ningshing Numit Observation Committee, Jiribam will observe the 75th Nupi Lal Ninghsing Numit on December 12 at Town Hall, Jiribam and will be attended by Principal of Jiri College, Dr. N. Bijeya Devi as chief guest and President of JIMWAK, Jiribam, Thangjam (o) Jiri Devi, President of AJMP, Jiribam, Sagapam (o) Sushila Devi, President of JIMPAL, Huirem (o) Mema Devi and President of WACAK, Jiribam, Naorem (o) Nivarani Devi as guests of honour.
