IMPHAL, December 7: The selected SI/Jemadar and ASI candidates today demanded the concerned authorities to hand over their appointment letters before the end of the forthcoming Winter session of the State Legislative Assembly.

Speaking to media persons today at the Manipur Press Club, executive member of the SI/Jemadar Selected Candidate Core Committee L Persony Singh said the failure of the government to hand over their appointment letters even after 16 months since the viva-voce result was declared is unfortunate.

He said the committee had tried on several occasions to meet the Chief Minister to inquire about the reason behind the delay and appealed to the authorities to hand over the same at the earliest but have failed to even meet the Chief Minister.

Stating that the Chief Minister`™s secretary had informed that verification process is still going on, he asked how long it takes for the authorities to verify just 285 SIs, 59 Jemadars and 315 ASIs.
