IMPHAL, December 11: The Seram Mangi Singh Foundation today organised the Second Death Anniversary of Seram Mangi Singh at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur, Dance Academy.
Floral tributes were offered and people observed silence for two minutes during the function.
The event was attended by well known lyricist B Jayantakumar Sharma and retired assistant station director of AIR Imphal, Sagolsem Indrakumar Singh. Eminent writer and DDK Imphal retired director A Kamson and eminent writer and former Manipur State Commission for Women chairperson Dr Ch Jamini Devi were also present during the event.
Professor MC Arun of the department of Anthropology, Manipur University delivered a speech on Nat-Sankirtan and its contribution to Manipuri culture during the function.
The Seram Mangi Memorial Award-2014 was presented to Akoijam Ibomcha of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri for his contributions in the field of Art and Culture.
Akoijam Ibomcha specialises in Manipuri Pung and has participated in several shows across the country.
