IMPHAL, December 24: The State Level Gaan-Ngai 2015 Celebration Committee has said that it will organise Gaan-Ngai at Mahakabui Namching Village, Senapati on January 3.
According to a release of the committee, the festival will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam as chief guest, Minister of Commerce and Industry/Sericulture/Veterinary and Animal Husbandry as president and Works/Transport Minister, Kh. Ratankumar, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Md. Abdul Nasir, Vice Chairman of HAC, Z. Kikhonbou Newmai, MLA, Saikot A/C, TN Haokip and MLA, Tamenglong A/C, Janghemlung Panmei as guests of honour, it said.
The committee also invited all the Khunpu/Khullak, Civil Society Community Leaders and well wishers irrespective of religion/denomination, Caste and creed to participate in the State Level Gaan-Ngai. The committee also prayed that the celebration of the festival will enrich the cultural and traditional heritage of Zeliangrong Community and also strengthen the cultural ties among various communities of the region. It also appealed to the general public not to impose bandhs, blockade or strike during the festival, it said.
