UFO Thangmeiband observes 9th rising day

IMPHAL, December 12: The Universal Friendship Organisation earlier known as Meitei Huyel Langlon Sintam Sanglen, Satjal Academy of Thangmeiband branch observed its 9th rising Day celebration at Thangmeiband Cheiraoching today.

The function was attended by the director prosecution, government of Manipur, Ng Tejkumar Singh, retired ITI teacher, Keisham Tomcha Mangang, advocate Legal Aid Council, Kh Kanta, president Naharol Leishemba Club, Leishangthem Pratap Meitei and secretary COHSEM, Sarangajit Khundrakpam as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Around 700 members from different branches of the organisation and locals also attended the function.

At least 100 members wearing black uniform gave salute during the flag hoisting of the organisation.

Speaking at the function, secretary UFO Meinam Mooriba of Itham Mayai Leikai said that the organisation was set up for a non-violent world. The organisation was formed on four main objectives: to inculcate discipline among the elder and the younger generations, to bring back the lost culture, to spread awareness on the values of justice and to save the Meetei religion, he said.

He further said that the dream of the Oja RK Manisana to build 100 Shanglens inside the State was fulfilled. At present, 216 branches along with 33 Head Quarter Battalion exist in the State and five headquarter battalions outside the State in Jiribam with 600 members each.

He further said that 3000 `active soldiers`™ are in western side. He also said that one day in our `fatherland`™, our women will also get freedom, free from crime and violence.

Addressing as chief guest speech, Tejkumar said that emotional integrity is needed to bring peace in the State.

He further elaborated that the loss of culture will lead to loss of identity, loss of identity leads to loss of community.
