IMPHAL, Jan 27: The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has said in a press statement signed by its director`“in-charge M Sak-hen that Thoudam Bhorot alias Bhogen, son of Th Rameshwar, of Uripok Yambem Leikai who was arrested by a joint team of Narcotics and Border Affairs and Police Commandos on January 23 is not related with UNLF or its armed wing MPA in any manner.
News items published on January 26 in local dailies based on police release claimed that the said person is a cadre of UNLF and he was arrested during frisking and checking. It also said that according to his revelation another cadre of UNLF was also arrested.
It also said that the other person identified as Ningthoujam Babulu alias Homendro, 43, alias N Ibomcha, of Wahengbam Leikai Lairembi Maning is also not related to UNLF or its armed wing in any manner. And also the carbine which was recovered from him does not belong to UNLF`™s armed wing MPA, it added.
