IMPHAL, January 9: The Manipur College Progressive Writer`™s Union released three books written by Professor Dr E Girani Singh and Professor Dr Kh Ibemhal Devi of the Political Science department today at the Manipur College Auditorium.
The three books are Socialist Political Economy (A Marxist Approach with Soviet Experience), Panchayati Raj and Rural Development in Manipur, and Public Expenditure and Economic Development in Manipur.
In the function, Head of the Department of Management, Mizoram University, Professor E Nickson and Principal of Manipur College, Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh were the chief guest and president respectively. DR Elangbam Girani Singh said `Socialist Political Economy`™ is based on the social economy of the world which is facing problems in development and peace.
He said the second book (Panchayati Raj and Rural Development in Manipur) mostly focuses on how much the PR& RD department has benefited people under centrally sponsored schemes.
