IMPHAL, January 9: The Protection Committee of Wangoi expressed gratitude to the government for placing the Wangoi Community Health Centre, which was earlier attached to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, under the Health and Family Welfare department.
Speaking at a press conference at the Manipur Press Club today, Sher Khan Meinam said the committee had launched several agitations months ago to bring the Wangoi CHC under the Health and Family Welfare department.
As a result of the agitations, Under Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), issued a notification that the concerned CHC will be placed under the Health and Family Welfare department.
He said the notification also included assurances of providing proper staffs and instruments at the earliest while appealing that the Operation Theatre which has stopped its operations due to lack of manpower must be made fully functional.
