IMPHAL, January 3: The non-local man who was arrested carrying three minors he had kidnapped in his car at Kambiro, under the Nungba Police Station, early last morning has been remanded to police custody for seven days by a court today.
The man has been identified as Ozish, 45, from Maharashtra.
He was remanded to police custody after the Nungba Police produced him before the District Magistrate and pleaded for putting him in police custody.
He was arrested by personnel of the 87 Battalion of the CRPF at the gate of their Kambiron post and was handed over to the Nungba Police Station.
The three abducted minors were handed over to their parents yesterday itself after relentless public pressure.
The Maruti Alto car bearing the registration number MH-12BP-5922 which the accused had used in abducting the minors was set ablaze by an enraged mob yesterday.
