KANGPOKPI, February 3: The All Tribal Students`™ Union Manipur today expressed its discontentment over the State government`™s silence on post classification which the union alleges will rob away all the tribals`™ opportunity of reservation in promotion.

ATSUM president Emboi Serto lamented that has already conveyed its opposition to the Government Orders dated May 5, 2010 of Finance Department (Pay Implementation Cell) for classification of Post and that a representation had been sent to the State government.

However, even after the representation and publication of the opposition in the local dailies, the State government continues to remain silent, alleged Emboi who also pointed out that if the government go ahead with the Orders than the tribals will lost all the opportunity of reservation in promotion as they will be considered as Officers in Group A whereas they do not enjoy the facilities of being a Group A Officer.

It is extremely embarrassing that Subedars and Inspectors of the State police with a pay band of Rs. 4,400 are in Group A according to Government Orders of Finance Department (Pay Implementation Cell) for classification of Post asserted Emboi before adding that the CRPF Inspectors who are enjoying Rs. 4,800 Pay Band are not in Group A but in Group B only.

ATSUM therefore once again appeal the State government and concerned related authority to take the matter with seriousness and reconsider the Orders with an official Gazettes while avoiding any further steps which can hurt the sentiments of the tribal and unacceptable decision for them.

As cautioned earlier there must be no further DPC for promotion until and unless this problem is resolved warned Emboi while conveying his anticipation of meaningful discussion on part of the state Government.
