CCpur discusses Sixth Schedule demand

LAMKA, February 3: A major electronic media based in Churachandpur `Angels Vision`™ organised a live talk show on the topic the ongoing demand of the sixth schedule provision in the hill areas of the State.

The show was attended by all the executive members of the Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur led by chairman Langkhanpau Guite and vice chairman Demmang Haokip held at the Dorcaa Hall auditorium, New Lamka till late in the night.

A select media team was also invited, including IFP, apart from intellectuals of Ccpur town including owner of Salt Brook School Vanlallian Haokip, Richard Haokip the principal of Greenwood school both of whom are noted exponents of Sixth Schedule in the hills and also the founding president of ZRO and presenty their adviser K Guite who all agree that the best thing to happen now for the hill`™s people of Manipur is the Sixth Schedule provision of the Indian Constitution for the hills area of Manipur.

From the MDC team H.Mangchinkhup who was a member that went to meet the central leaders in Delhi recently, presented and brief about the steps they have taken so far in regards to the sixth schedule demands.

There is a mighty huge difference between the fifth and sixth Schedule of the Constitution and the later is more Tribal oriented, the chairman of ADCC tells on the question of convincing the majority of Manipur, huge valley people, they said that ATSUM leaded by the late Mr. E.Vungkholian.

EM of ADCC also tells that as the centre can veto the State opposition and what we need is all about unity of the tribal and hills people.

V Haokip says` the sixth schedule is the foremost to save guard our right as it will be a State within a State without the boundary demarcation while also dwelling on the importance of cooperation among the people and for this awareness must be given through the school, churches and the civil society organisations as well.
