Hardening Chamber for orchids inaugurated at ORDC Hengbung

KANGPOKPI, February 14: A Hardening Chamber for laboratory produced orchid seedlings was inaugurated today by advisor and head, Kiran and SEED division, Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India Chander Mohan with Prasar Bharati ADG Dr Manoj Kataria as the guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Chander said when knowledge, effort and determination are put together and move forward then there is nothing impossible.

Further encouraging the OR&DC Hengbung workers and beneficiary farmers, he said that we are from India, a nation that does not look back at failure but move forward for success, a nation that never accept defeated before assuring that he will definitely do his best for development and growth of OR&DC Hengbung in future.

He further pointed out that there is a complete lack of interaction between the media and the beneficiaries and further urged the ADG, prasar Bharti Dr Manoj Kataria to assist the people.

Dr HB Singh, DST lamented that it is the department`™s intention to impart utilisation of the technical inputs of this place by giving knowledge to the farmers and making use of their hard efforts and bringing entrepreneurship among them.

He continued that the inaugurated Hardening Chamber will be platform where all the knowledge of this research centre is going to be use through the chamber by everyone.

Dr. Manoj Kataria, ADG, Prashar Bharti asserted that DST has been working hard to bring scientific development to the people while pledging that he will certainly do the best on his part for connecting masses to science especially in the North East.

The ADG Prashar Bharti continued that today is the age of conversion, connectivity, plurality of media, technology and culture. So if we are able to put all of them together in the right perspective then all our dreams can be achieved.

Staffs and many beneficiary farmers also attended the inauguration function.
