IMPHAL, February 2: The Manipur University Students`™ Union, MUSU today entered into an agitation against university authorities for not completing the repairing work of the roads inside the campus especially those which approach boys`™ hostel 1, 2, 3 and the library.

MUSU also submitted a memorandum containing 14 demands to the State government.

The demands include an appeal to the government to release the remaining funds meant for the road repairing work and to complete the work at the earliest.

The students complained that the roads have been left unattended in deplorable conditions without any action from the authorities for long.

Meanwhile, volunteers of the student union condemning the authorities`™ failure to open department offices of the university even after 10 am broke the locks of the doors of all such departments.

However, no untoward incidents were reported during the agitation of the students`™ union.

Speaking to media persons, a volunteer of the student body said the agitation was initiated as a last resort of the students`™ union after the authorities failed to look into their demands despite of repeated memorandums being submitted.

The student body representative said that although the work for the said roads is to be undertaken by the LS Construction, however, it has be shelved following the authorities`™ failure to release the needed funds to LS Construction.
