IMPHAL, February 14: Sagolband Central Progressive Committee lauded the MLA of the Assembly Constituency, RK Imo Singh for taking up many developmental works after his election as a representative of the constituency.
Speaking to the media at a press conference at the residence of the MLA, Sagolband Central Progressive Committee president L Nabakumar said not too many development were visible in the constituency during the tenure of the last elected representative. Despite the fact that Sagolband is in the heart of the town, there was some Leikais which did not have water supply pipes during the last term, he added.
The election of RK Imo Singh as an MLA has drastically brought development. Every Leikai and colonies have been connected with drinking water pipes and most of the roads have improved, he said.
President L Nandakumar further stated that seven community halls are under construction and one is under construction under the MLA Local Area Development Fund in his three years as an elected representative.
Speaking on the occasion, Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh said he has giving main priority to developing good roads, power and water supply schemes. He said he has found many Leikais which did not have water supply pipes even in Yaiskul which is in the heart of the town. A new water supply scheme is now about 85 percent complete, he said, and he has spent around Rs. 15 lakhs from his own pocket to supplement the department works.
The remaining 15 percent of the development of the water supply scheme will be completed next year, he said.
Regarding the roads, he said, despite facing fund constraints from the Special Plan Assistance, the development works have been managed by borrowing funds from other projects after consulting with the Chief Minister.
