UKHRUL, February 23: Customers of the United Bank of India (UBI) here had to leave early the premises of its branch office at the Ukhrul Mini-Secretariat Monday as the bank authority shut down office for the day following a nagging outage of the BSNL broadband internet service.
The bank branch opened as normal in the morning but as a glitch in the BSNL internet began disrupting the bank`s service around 10: 30 am and remained down till late in the morning, the bank authority downed the shutter around noon and the branch subsequently remained closed for the day.
Although some withdrawal transactions could be seen at the cash service counter, most internet related banking transactions were put off due to the internet outage.
Meanwhile, official sources at the bank Monday said that the BSNL internet service was down not just here but also elsewhere.
