Land dispute between two villages left six injured

IMPHAL, March 16: A land dispute between two neighbouring villages has left six people injured including three women at Kangchup Chiru under Gamnom Sapermina Police Station (about 17 Kilometre away from Imphal on Uripok Kangchup Road) in Senapati District.

The injured were admitted at RIMS.

A Maruti Van, Maruti Wagon-R and three houses were damaged in the fight.

The dispute was between some villagers of Kangchup Chiru village and Kangchuo Makhom village that occurred this morning at around 7.

Sticks and other deadly weapons were reportedly used in the fight.

The injured persons have been identified as Khunodim, 55, son of (L) Daneidim; and his Achung , 25; Daneibum, 54, son of Danikum; Romita, 37, wife of Sekneikho; Akip, 45, wife of David and Jekneikim, 27, wife of Lalneidim. All of them are of Kangchuo Chiru village.

A Police team led by Additional SP of Senapati District Police assisted by Officer-in-charge of Gamnom Sapermeina Police Station and Officer-in-charge of Lamsang Police Commando Post controlled the tense situation.

Later, AMUCO, NEEPCO, Nupi Samaj, Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup and AMSU leaders also visited the village.
