IMPHAL, March 12: Heingang Constituency MLA, Nongthombam Biren, visited the injured victims of yesterday`™s bomb blast incident at RIMS hospital today at around 10:30 am.
The MLA, during his visit extended some help in cash to the serious injured persons. All injured where given Rs. 2000 and those with minor injuries were given Rs. 1000 humanitarian ground.
Talking to the media in the sidelines, Biren said the issue of bomb blasts at the heart of Imphal is serious. He said he will raise the issue at the CLP meeting where he will point out the failure of the intelligence department which has not been able to detect the culprit, though this is not the first time a blast has occurred at the same place.
He said the system of frisking in the Imphal area must change and police personnel should not be checking for documents alone but also for explosive device.
He strongly condemned the act of terror killing the innocent people as barbaric.
