MLA urges CCTV coverage of most of Khwairamband Bazar

IMPHAL, March 24: MLA RK Imo Singh has drawn the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam to install functional CCTV camera in most part of the Khwairamband bazaar areas and major junctions in city areas to prevent unwanted incidents from occurring and to enable tracing of the anti social elements.

The MLA said this during the inaugural function of the newly constructed building of Sagolband Youth Development Association (SYDA) today at Sagolband Parking. Rs. 10 lakh will be sanctioned for the first phase from the local area development fund of 2014-15 for the development in the newly constructed club building.

Imo Singh further appealed the Chief Minister of the State who is also holding the portfolio of Power Department for the installation of street lamps in and around Paona bazaar and Thangal bazaar as passerby in these areas are facing problems from darkness.

He also stated that the Babuthong over the Nambul River will be renovated soon to its old original structure which is a part of historical monument. He also appealed the people residing near the river bank not to block the flow of river for their personal interest during water scarcity so that everyone can take the benefit.

The inaugural function was also attended by senior citizen of the locality, Ak Ibotombi and Civil Manager NHPC, Kh Manih. And as part of the function, the renowned female folk singer, M Mangka presented three songs during the function.
