CCpur security establishment and public pledge to build peace together

LAMKA, April 10: An interface between security forces and public was organised by the Churachandpur District Police under its SP Mangkhogin Haokip IPS , at the District Training Center (DTC), located at Tuibuang. The function drew a respectable participation by civil society bodies, student union leaders, philanthropic organisations, media men etc of the district.

Top Police and Assam Rifles officials of the district also spoke to the packed house.

Commanders of 27th Sector AR, Brig.BK. Sharma said everybody has to pay their role in seeing to it that peace prevails. “Peace should come from you then it will come to your family then to the society then to your district, state and to the country` he said . He also talked about the importance of having dreams without which it will be hard to achieved goals. We will go all out to bring peace here in Churachandpur and I considered myself a Churachandpurian, the sector commander said.

The DIG of BSF/STC UC Hazarika IPS, said that though they are not for security patrolling he will do his utmost to maintain law and order and peace in the district while congratulating the police under its SP Mangkhogin Haokip IPS for their innovative initiative which he says was his first public expose after joining as DIG of BSF here in CCpur.

Many invited leaders and public interacted or asked question to the top cops of Ccpur.

Notably leaders of Hmar youth organisation stressed on the need for all people of Churachandpur as one community without discrimination even if they speak different dialects. They also said men in uniform, particularly the Assam Riffle(AR) ,who had come from outside of the state, should understand, respect and learned the custom and practices of the local people.

Social workers like CT Lian dwelt on the important the law. In his answer the SP said he was short of manpower due to the strike by VDF, and his core concern at the moment is related to consequences of alcohol consumption and road accidents.

The DC of CCpur. Lunminthang Haokip IAS, said they had a regular security-people interface and pointed out that certain village authority are demanding security cover.

The DC also said he was pained by the fact that shop were close at sunset which, shortening their business hours. This had a lot to do with security reasons therefore a solution is needed. In regards to the AR coming from outside, the moderator of the interface, the Additional SP of CCpur, Balram Singh MPS, said though they are from outside Manipur in general, they work together with the local police so they would not be altogether at a loss.
