CM informed of Konthoujam water crisis

IMPHAL, April 6: The Konthoujam Local Council, CPI has stated that a memorandum signed by Assistant Secretary M. Kesho and Executive in charge, M. Sakhi was submitted to the Chief Minister on April 6.

According to a release of council, the memorandum contained demands to provide solution regarding the water shortage and to give points to help in the success of schemes taken up by government.

The council demanded to avail safe drinking water to all villagers of Konthoujam A/C, to construct and repair the irrigation dams and canals qualitatively, to construct Maklang and Nambol River Project to control flood and supply water to the cultivable field during the Rabi season, to repair all roads of Konthoujam A/C with black topping before rainy season, to distribute the Old Age Pension which has been pending for a year, to implement Food Security Scheme in Manipur immediately and to fulfill 100 days work through NREGA, it said.
