IMPHAL, April 2: In a horrific incident of crime, unidentified miscreants shot dead a man and later abandoned the dead body with hands and legs tied up inside his Hyundai Verna car bearing registration no MN01 M4439 at Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai Yanglou Road under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Md Nausad, 30, son of Md Zalil of Khsetrigao Makha Leikai under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East. The dead body was discovered by some locals of the area around 7.30 am.
Reports said the Verna car was found parked at the area since early morning. As no one came to claim the vehicle for so long, locals out of suspicion broke the door of the vehicle and found the man shot dead in the rear seat of his car.
The locals immediately informed the police about the recovery of the dead body. A bullet wound was found on head of the dead man. Locals of the area had heard sound of a bullet shot yesterday midnight.
Police have deposited the dead body at JNIMS morgue for performing post mortem, the reports stated.
