DESAM, others appeal to revoke ban on Catholic schools

IMPHAL, April 6: Democratic Students Alliances Manipur (DESAM) organized a one-day open discussion meeting in connection with the imposition of indefinite ban on Catholic schools in Manipur today at MDU Hall, Keishamthong.

All Manipur Private School Welfare Association, Catholic Education Society, Catholic Fathers and Sisters, guardians, van drivers`™ association and students`™ organizations attended the meeting.

The meeting has resolved to appeal to KCP (MC) to revoke the indefinite ban imposed by them on Catholic schools in the State.

It has further appealed the State government to take up preventive measures to safeguard the students`™ future from these bans and threats by UG outfits or any other organizations.

The meeting has also resolved to launch various forms of agitation if the concerned authorities fail to redress their grievances

The meeting appealed to the UG outfits, government and other organizations not to give any obstructions to a schools`™ functioning regarding their demands for the sake of the students` future.
