Police inaction flaye in assault on four workers at Okshoi pat

IMPHAL, April 3: The Government of Manipur and the police department are still remaining silent over the incident where 30 to 40 people attempted to murder four workers at Okshoi pat water pump who were sleeping in the tailor inside the tractor on the unfortunate night on March 27 around 11.30pm said Sushildro Nongthongbam, secretary incharge Oinam Tangleihada Okshoi Grazing Ground Protrction Committee.

Speaking at a press conference held today at the Manipur Press Club he further said that the incident was reported to the police on March 28 but the department has still not taken up any action so far.

The incident was unfortunate and scary, he said adding the four persons were working for the Okshoi pat water pump he added.

Sushildro alleged that around 30 to 40 people with torches, and several other lethal weapons attempted to killed all the four persons present there.

While the other three ran for their life Ratankumar (Moirangningthou) Singh was already surrounded by the 30, 40 members, and was almost murdered, he said.

The other victims were Chongtham Chaleshwor (Bojaoba) Meitei, Ahongshanfbam Romen (Naoton) Singh, Laishram Bashan (Inao) Singh and Ratankumar (Moirangningthou) Singh.

Sushildro said that the main accused involved in the incident were Sagolsem Apabi Singh s/o (L) S Amuba Singh, Angomjanbam Ibungo Singh s/o A Tababi Devi, Naorem Debekanta Singh s/o N Herachandra Singh and Angomjanbam Ganashyam Singh s/o A Ibocha Singh.

The Okshoi Tangleihada Okshoi Grazing Ground Protection Committee strongly appealed to the government and the department concerned to take up the action and punish the accused at the earliest.

Sushildro further said that these barbaric acts cannot be tolerated by the people and should be stop.

`We don`™t want bandhs and blockades in the state anymore but only justice to be given to the victim` he maintained.
