IMPHAL, May 7: The Congress party worker who was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified armed persons along with his motorcycle while returning back from an election campaign from Haochong yesterday evening around 4 was found shot dead in a place situated in between Haochong and Ijeirong, Tamenglong district today morning.
The deceased has been identified as DL Sajon, 32 son of DL Kutong from Oktan village under Tamenglong Police Station.
Sources said DL Sajon was a worker for a Congress candidate for the Haochong District Council Constituency for the ensuing ADC election.
His motorcycle was also found set ablaze by the armed kidnappers. A team of Tamenglong police has rushed to the area where the dead body was recovered, the sources added.
