IMPHAL, May 7: Based on reliable intelligence input that some active cadres of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) are taking shelter at Langol Tarung village area with a view to commit prejudicial activities like extortion of money from general public, government employees etc; Imphal West District Police Commando team conducted cordon and search in some suspected houses in the said area on May 5 and arrested one active member of ZUF organization, said a press release of PRO, Police Department.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Luangloungam Kamei, 39 alias Kenedy Kamei alais Meingamlung Kamei son of Ganmei Kamei of Ngariyan Rengjang village, Churachandpur district. Five demand letters of ZUF organization were seized from his possession.
A case has been registered at Lamphel Police Station and invesitigation is going on, the release added.
