IMPHAL, May 30: Based on a reliable information, a combined team of District Police Commando, Imphal East and 40 Assam Rifles conducted frisking and checking at Naharup Pangong near Hanging bridge on May 29 and arrested two cadres of PLA/RPF organisation, namely, s/s Corporal Koijam Sanatomba Singh @ Chabi @ Tomba (25) s/o (L) K. Giri Singh of Baskandi Tourangbam Leikai, Lakhipur alp Kabo Leikai near war cemetery and s/s Sergeant Loitongbam Premjit Singh @ Khaba (28) s/o L. Baba Singh of Lakhinagar, Cachar, according to a press release issued by PRO, Police Department.
Investigation revealed that, they had extorted a huge amount of money from the general public, goverment offices for raising fund for the said organisation.
A case had been registered at Irilbung Police Station and investigation is going on.
On the same day, based on a reliable information, a combined team of District Police Commando, Imphal East and 40 Assam Rifles conducted frisking and checking near Thambalkhong Bridge. During the frisking and checking, an active member of UNLF organisation, namely, (i) sls Lance Corporal Thiyam Herofin Singh @ Nongleingaka (20) s/o (L) Th. Khamba Singh of Sagolband Tera Sayang Khwai Ningthou Leikai was arrested. Investigation revealed that, he had extorted a huge amount of money from the general public for raising fund for the said organisation.
A case had been registered at Porompat Police Station and investigation is going on.
