ADC re-poll in Chandel

Chandel, June 6: Repoll was held in all 10 polling stations under 41 and 41-Chandel today.

Although polling disruption in few stations, allegation of proxy voting and booth capturing by party workers were reported from few polling stations there was no report of any brutal incident available until the time of filing this report.

Unsatisfied by the polling activities at 11/7-Mitong P/s under 11-Pantha, Chief of Rasankhul village Ng. Angningam and Chief of Laarphuw N Mokan filed a written complaint to the District Election Officer (DEO) wherein the two chiefs alleged the NPF workers of forcefully seizing and capturing the booth. Urging the DEO to invalidate the vote further complaint that many voters because of harassment from the rivals fled the village and have not been able to exercise their franchise, the chiefs alleged.

Women folk who were reported to flee their polling stations later stormed DC complex. As a result, there was tension inside the DC complex. However, the security in placed took control of the situation and normalcy return.
