IMPHAL, June 13: A day after the PRO Police claimed the arrest of NSCN (K) s/s chairman of Amammcht region Abi alias Ambition Anal in a statement issued to the media, another faction of the outfit NSCN (R) has claimed otherwise and asserted that the said individual is the chairman of Amammch Region of the NSCN (R) and presently undergoing medical treatment.
A NSCN (R) statement signed by its publicity information secretary Konar said Abi is not a member of the NSCN (K) but chairman Amammcht of NSCN (R) as he had merged with the group led by Wangtin Naga and Tikhak and presently under ceasefire with the government of India.
It said the NSCN (R) is not involved with any violent activity and has the support of the people.
Abi alias Ambition Anal is one of the founding member of NSCN-R and along with other leaders including Kono, Romeo, publicity & Information Secy Konar, Rajapyu Momo who hailed from Amammcht region had already merged with the NSCN-R but had delayed in issuing information related to merger which seem to have given undue advantage to the security forces, it said.
The press release further added that the allegation leveled against Abi aka Ambition Anal who is peace loving leader with intention to save the image of security forces is very much unfortunate.
