IMPHAL, June 1: Based on specific intelligence regarding presence of UG cadres in Chingdai Khullen village, troops of the 16 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in the area and apprehended two KNO/KLA cadres from the area of Taretkhul village on May 31, said a press release issued by PRO IGAR (S).
The apprehendees were identified as SS Pvt, Ngankhohao Guite alias Boipu Guite, aged 31 years, S/o Late Paojang Guite, resident of Jangnomphai, PO/PS- Churachandpur, and SS Pvt, Thanglenmang Mangneo, aged 25 years, S/o Soson Mangneo, resident of Jangnomphai, PO/PS- Churachandpur.
They revealed that they came to the Chingdai Khullen village to threaten the villagers to cast their vote in favor of BJP candidate. Incriminating articles were sized from their possession. The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to the Sagolmang Police Station, it added.
