IMPHAL, June 10: In what could be seen as a major security loophole, a powerful hand grenade was exploded by unidentified persons at the campus of commando complex just nearby Moreh Police Station in Chandel district today around 6.40 pm.

However, no one was injured in the blast. The commando complex is situated adjacent to the residential quarter of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Moreh, Sadananda.

Mention may be made that SDPO Sadananda was roped in as the Investigation Officer to investigate into the ambush carried out by a combined team of underground outfits on a convoy of 6 Dogra Regiment near Paraolon village, Chandel district on June 4 killing 18 personnel and injuring scores others.

Later, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation case by an order of Government of India.
