CADA conducts awareness campaign

IMPHAL, Jun 14: The Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) has said that an awareness programme was held on June 13 at Mayang Langjing Tamang at 3 pm.

According to a release of CADA, the programme was attended by President of CADA, Advocate Y. Ratankumar, Mayanglangjing ZP, Konthoujam (o) Sunity, Pradhan of Mayanglangjing GP, Khagembam Sanaton, President of Nupi Semgat Sagat Lup, Chongtham (o) Keinahanbi and President of Mayang Langjing Youth Library Club, Thamangjam Kitan as presidium members.

During the programme, the presidium members spoke on the bad influence of drugs on people and especially to the youths. They also berated the Lamsang Excise Station OC for not being committed to his work, it said.

The members further stated that drugs should not be avoided in order to become a better person. Everyone should make their own choice not to use drugs. Prohibition of drugs cannot be fully carried out by Meira Paibis only. Both the male, club members and ward committee should also take up steps in order to ban intoxicants from the state to prevent the society from degrading, it said.
