CM condoles Ph Tarapot`s demise

IMPHAL, June 5: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has expressed shock and grievance on the sudden demise of Phanjoubam Tarapot Singh who worked as Imphal Correspondent of the Press trust of India (PTI).

The CM has said that Tarapot will be remembered for his dedication in his service. In his death, the state has lost a talented journalist.

Ibobi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray the Almighty God to give them the strength to withstand the loss.

Meanwhile, the All Jiribam Working Journalist Union (AJWJU) has also condoled the sudden demise of Journalist cum Author, Phanjoubam Tarapot Singh who passed away following a brief illness.

According to a release of AJWJU, General Secretary of the Union, M. Romeo Singh has compared the demise of Tarapot as to that of a loss of a glittering star.

The general secretary further said that apart from being a journalist, Tarapot also wrote three books in English and one in Manipuri. His hard work and dedication and love for his motherland will forever be embedded in the heart of the people.

The union prayed for the soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode. It also share in the grief of the bereaved family members, it said.
