KANGPOKPI, June 10: The counting of votes in respect of Sadar Hills ADC election held on June 1 ended peacefully at ADC/DEO office here today.
Indian National Congress (INC) swept almost the entire 24 seats in Sadar Hills securing 17 seats while its rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could managed to secure only four seats at 01-Mayangkhang DCC, 03-Irang Part-I DCC, 12-Khengjang DCC and 24-Bongbal Khullen DCC.
While H. Khangba and Silla J. Khonghay managed to get two seats for Naga People`™s Front (NPF) from 06-Kalapahar DCC and 22-Kamuching DCC, Haokholun Chongloi managed to get a seat for Independent from 08-Wakotphai DCC.
The elected BJP candidates are P Rocky Rangtaina from Mayangkhang DCC, Sagar Gewali from Irang Part-I DCC, Willing Lungbou from 12-Khengjang DCC and Thangjamang Kipgen also popularly known as Maneithangja from Bongbal Khullen DCC.
Indian National Congress candidates who have declared won in their respective constituencies are Haokholal Hangshing (uncontested from 02-Kangpokpi DCC); Seikhosat Kipgen (04-Tujang Waichong DCC); Bhumi Prasad Basnet (05-Irang Part-II DCC); Lamminthang Kipgen (06-Keithelmanbi DCC); Lamkholen Kipgen (uncontested from 09-Tujang DCC); Lunthang Haokip (10-Gamnom Sapormeina DCC); Kaikhosei Lhouvum (11-Motbung DCC); Dama Vaiphei (13-Kangchup DCC); L. Johny Gangmei (14-Tintong Laijang DCC); S.D. Dinglar Chiru (15-Bungte Chiru DCC); Paotinlun Chongloi (16-Molkon DCC); Thangjalun Mate (17-Makokching DCC); Thangjakam Misao (18-Saikul DCC); Seikholal Haokip (19-Lhungjang DCC); Lunkhohen Haokip (20-Mapao DCC); Onthong Haokip (21-Chingdai Khullen) and M.L. Dominic Kasouwa (23-Nongmaiching DCC).
