IMPHAL, June 18: A massive landslide measuring about 150 feet length in area, triggered by the incessant rain in Tamenglong district has totally blocked the Imphal-Tamei Road (IT Road), around half kilometre away from the Tamei Headquarter near the Diesel Oil Pump.

Due to the landslide, the IT Road has been cut off from the rest of other places since two days back.

Clearing of the landslide has been started from today morning around 8.30 by using only one JCB belonging to NEC. The landslide is such a big one that it may take two/three days to clear.

Talking to this correspondent, village authority secretary of Tamei Sub-Division Adin said that the concerned authority must send more bulldozers and necessary machineries to clear the landslide off the road so as to avoid traffic inconvenience.

The Imphal-Tamei Road, 75 kms from Kangpokpi is being maintained by NEC for double lane.
