IMPHAL, June 7: Ningthoujam Bishojit, who was accused of being involved in the alleged rape and murder of Ningthoujam Rebika, called a press conference today to clear his name of any connection with the case.
Making his clarification before media persons at the Manipur Press Club today, Bishojit said he is from Wangjing tekcham Leikai and that he is not involved in the case.
He said the Thoubal Police had picked him up yesterday and released him yesterday itself after they found no involvement of his in the case.
It is unfortunate that the mob without making any enquiry had set his house on fire, he said.
He continued that the accused used to work under him, but only till May 25 and they had left since then.
He further appealed to the concern authorities to investigate properly.
