IMPHAL, Jun 26: Deeply disheartened by the recent events where shops run by people from Mao community were targeted in Kohima, the Naga Women`™s Union (NWU), Tahamzam (Senapati) has affirmed that any dispute can be resolved amicably as resorting to force can only separate people further.

In a press release, the union acknowledged that peaceful settlement can only come about, if people make the conscious effort to do so.

`We beseech everyone involved to bring about settlement through our customary practice of dispute settlement. It is our earnest prayer that peace and normalcy be restored in our land and that the artificial boundary will not further separate us`, it said.
