IMPHAL, Aug 25: The All Manipur Students`™ Union will observed the `50th Hunger Marchers`™ Day`™ on August 27, from 9 am onwards at the Singjamei Chinga Pishum informed Manjit Sarangthem, general secretary AMSU during a press conference held at their head office today.
The students`™ uprising of August 27, 1965 was the biggest movement against the injustices meted out by the government in the post-merger period in the history of Manipur stated Manjit.
People of the State should not forget the incident when four individuals including three students lost their lives while demanding `right to food`™ for the people of the State he added.
AMSU appealed to all the people of the State, civil organizations, clubs and Meira Paibis to attend the observation and also appealed not to impose any kind of bandh, blockade or general strike not to create any annoyance during the observation.
