IMPHAL, August 4: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Manipur Pradesh will soon submit a report on the Congress government constructed structures which had crumbled and collapsed during the recent flood including the Sekmai Dam, Heirok Bridge, president of the youth front Oinam Malesh told media persons today.

A team of the BJYM Manipur Pradesh visited flood affected areas of Heirok and Tekcham and distributed rice, oil, sugar and other items to the flood affected families.

The team was accompanied by a team of the Khalsa Aid Organisation based in United Kingdom. The UK based organisation had arrived in the State to assess the flood in the State. More teams of the organisation are likely to reached Imphal tomorrow. They will also be visiting Chandel district which has also been hit hard by the flood.

Speaking to media persons, Malesh said the Heirok Bridge which collapsed during the flood was inaugurated by the local MLA Moirangthem Okendro Singh who is also the State Education minister.

The BJYM Manipur Pradesh has already inspected some of the structures he said, and added, it is quite disheartening that the Congress Government has cheated the people of the State by compromising on the quality of the structures constructed.

The people need to understand the act of the Congress government now, and it is the right time to teach them a lesson, Malesh observed.

He claimed another dam constructed by the government in Heirok has collapsed damaging 200/300 hectors of paddy field.

The Congress government, which has gifted several bridges constructed without any quality maintenance to the Manipuri people, is the worst enemy of the people, he contended.

Tekcham ongbi Sangita Devi, a villager of Tekcham Leibung Leikai told the media persons that her village and surrounding areas has been greatly affected by the recent flood.

Now, we are staying along with our relatives in relief camps, she continued.

She lamented the MLA and the concern authorities have failed to meet them personally although they had sent relief materials.

Only delivering the relief materials is not enough, we need to narrate our grievances to the officials, she said observing that that the officials returned without visiting their village.

Till date, she said her village is flooded.

Due to lack of drinking water, even the children have to go without food for the last three days, she rued.

It is not just water, but we have no cooking fuel due to the flood, she continued.

The BJYM team also included vice presidents Basanta Singh, Y Gopi, K Bikram, Dr Antas Khan among others.
