IMPHAL, Aug 23: The Social Development Organisation, SDO, Pallel, in a release said it organised a sit in protest demanding the implementation of the Inner Line Permit System or an equivalent by August 25.

The gathering took three resolutions. The first said it will resort to a non-cooperation movement against outsider businesses if this deadline is not kept. The second demanded punishment of policemen responsible for atrocities against student protestors. The third demanded action against police personnel who stood as mute spectators in riots that broke out in Moreh on August 18 following a misunderstanding between two communities.

The Thoubal Apunba Lup, also organised a protest sit in cum discussion at the Thoubal Mela Ground today to chart out support strategies for the ILPS movement.

The meeting resolved to pressure the government to ensure the ILPS or an equivalent be introduced in the state, punish the police personnel responsible for killing Robinhood and for meting out inhuman treatment to other student agitators.

It also said it would begin a non-cooperation movement against outsider businesses and to support indigenous people who replace these trades.
