MSC/CPI celebrates its 68th foundation day

IMPHAL, Aug 23: Manipur State Council of Communist Party of India celebrated its 68th foundation day today at Irawat Bhavan, Imphal.

L Iboyaima, secretariat member, MSC/CPI; L Thoiren, deputy secretary (Orgn), MSC/CPI; A Lala, secretariat member, MSC/CPI; B Sharma, chairman, Control Commission, MSC/CPI attended as presidium members.

Dr M Nara, secretary, MSC/CPI and N Mangi, deputy secretary (Adm), MSC/CPI were the main speakers of the function.

Speaking at the function N Mangi mentioned the role played by MSC/CPI founding comrade Irawat during his time for the integrity of Manipur. Irawat`™s contribution in the field of Sports, culture, literature, politics etc were also highlighted in his speech.

He appealed to all the communities residing in the hill and valley to be united leaving their differences in religion, caste or creed, to save the integrity of Manipur.

He informed that around 35 thousand hectares of paddy fields of the State have been completely destroyed in the recent flood. He said according to the State Agriculture Department it cost around Rs 45 thousand to farm one Hectare of agricultural land which means that around 15 to 20 crore rupees damage has been done to the farmers by the flood.

He said the MSC/CPI demands the State government to approach the Centre to provide relief for the losses to the formers of the State.
