IMPHAL, August 23: Based on specific intelligence about the movement of a UG cadre, troops of the 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with representatives from Heingang Police Station launched a combined operation in the general area of Pangei Bazar and apprehended one ZUF cadre on August 22. The apprehendee has been identified as No- 106 (Batch No- 13), SS Pvt, Lumchur Riamei alias Lumlou, 31 son of Makuhoi Riamei of Soubanglong Leishok, Khoupum, Tamenglong district. Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion related activities and transportation of weapons for his group. The apprehendee has been handed over to Heingang Police Station, said a press release issued PRO IGAR (South).
