IMPHAL, Aug 14: The Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker, Th. Lokeshwar Singh has extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Independence Day-2015 to be observed on August 15.
The Speaker stated that Mahatma Gandhi and other brave freedom fighters struggled for the freedom of the country after it has been under British Rule for a long time. The people should not forget those brave martyrs who fought for the freedom of the country.
He also pointed out that taking the independence movement as an example, all communities of the country should live harmony and work together towards any issues.
The Speaker also believed that although many brave martyrs sacrificed their lives for Manipur in the past, there are still many more freedom fighters today and as such no outside force can break up the border and integrity of Manipur.
The Speaker once more wished the people of the state on the occasion of Independence Day.
