More loaded tankers to arrive in Imphal today

IMPHAL, September 11: After 57 loaded oil tankers arrived at the capital yesterday providing relief to the acute fuel scarcity in the State following the disruption along Imphal-Dimapur Road (National Highway-2) since August 17 due to landslide occurred at Pheshama near Kohima, more loaded oil tankers will be reaching Imphal tomorrow through the highway.

Reports received by this daily said necessary arrangement has been made to let empty oil tankers leave Mantripukhri this night with CRPF escort personnel for fetching fuel from various supply points.

The exact number of the oil tankers could not be ascertained. However, it may be around 60-70.

The CRPF personnel will escort the loaded oil tankers up to Imphal tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, several loaded oil tankers have also stated heading towards Imphal through Imphal-Jiribam Road (National Highway-37). However, the total number of the oil tankers could not be confirmed till the time of filing this report.
