IMPHAL, October 29: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has said that the country is likely to be torn apart due to the rising tension across the nation which is a result of the beef ban and other anti-religious activities carried out by loyalist of the BJP.

The Chief Minister was addressing a convention along with his entourage on `Vision of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru an Architect of Modern India` organised by the MPCC at Tarung ground.

Ibobi claimed that it is only during the term of BJP that we could hear of widespread anti-secular activities across the country.

Despite the fact that the country is under turmoil, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is yet to take initiative at his personal level, opined Ibobi.

The BJP government poses greater threat to Manipur, held Ibobi citing the declaration of cease fire extension that stirred up Manipur and the current Indo-Naga peace agreement considered as a threat by the Manipur public.

Taking into account these instances, Ibobi implied that the BJP government is more like a harbinger of violence and instability.

Further Ibobi and his entourage taking the opportunity of the convention also fired salvos at the BJP Manipur calling them a bunch of misfits virtually turning into election rally for Jotin Waikhom, a Congress candidate in the fray for the upcoming bye-election although they (Congress legislator) claimed that it was a pre-plan flagship programme.

The Congress party is not responsible for the disqualification of the Trinamool Congress MLAs but lack of political will and experience amongst the MLAs that resulted in their disqualification, said Ibobi.

He observed that no one should encourage and vote for such politically naive individuals.

The bye election is nothing but an outcome of the former Trinamool MLAs being incompetent, said Gaikhangam.

Claiming that the episode of disqualification is tantamount to betraying the trust and mandate of the people `it is like an unforgiveable sin` said Gaikhangam.

He further advised the disqualified MLAs to resign as the bye election is a burden to both the public and its exchequer.

Joining the bandwagon of war of words Lamlai MLA Biren, PHE minister I Hemochandra, Commerce and Industry minister Govindas Konthoujam and other party leaders said that those who have joined the BJP are unqualified individuals.

Terming the BJP Manipur as a landing zone for all outcast and unqualified individuals, the Congress legislators urged the public not to waste their valuable votes.

Surprisingly joining the lot was JU (U) president, M Tombi who said that voting for BJP means disintegrating Manipur and the reverse will be to save Manipur.
