KANGPOKPI, October 1: The Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) has clarified against a news report published in some local dailies regarding apprehension of two of its men allegedly for looting along NH-2.

The Information and Publicity secretary of the outfit Lincoln Kuki said that the reported news item regarding apprehension of two of its men on Tuesday night at around 10 pm in connection with looting of trucks along the national highway 2 (Imphal-Dimapur) road by a team of Kangpokpi police led by OC Hussian Ahmed is baseless and phony while adding that the outfit has nothing to do with it.

He wondered how an Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station could not accurately establish whether the two were cadres of the outfit or innocent civilians even though a copy of the outfit`™s cadre list is available at the police station.

He also charged the OC Kangpokpi PS of falsely accusing the outfit and expressed displeasure for trying to tarnish the image of KRF.

The statement said the two are innocent civilians identified as Paokholam Chongloi, son of (L) Lunkhomang Chongloi and Hengoulen Hangshing, son of Paolen Hangshing of Keithelmanbi (Champhai) village.

It clarified that they were innocent civilians and have no relation with the outfit.

He further clarified that cadres of KRF are never involved in looting, robbery and other outlawed activities along the national highway as reported rather it is a sinister design to blemish the hard earned image of the outfit.

KRF urged the men in uniform particularly the Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station to maintain cordial relationship while eschewing from false propagation against the outfit which can generate misunderstanding and unsolicited relationship between the police and the outfit in future.
