IMPHAL, October 1: Newly elected president of Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee L Tilotama was warmly welcomed during a simple function at the the residence of MPCC secretary Jyoti Waikhom at Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai today. The reception programme was organised by Thangmeiband Block Mahila Congress Committee.
More than 100 women from Thangmeiband kendra had welcomed the newly elected president.
During the programme, the Thangmeiband Block Mahila Congress Committee was was formed.
During the reception programme, Tilotama said if the woman of a family is good, the family is happy.
She added that Thangmeiband Kendra has produced State Chief Minister as well as deputy Chief Minister in the past and so appealed the participating women folks to support Jyotin Waikhom in the coming by election to promote and to bring development in the Thangmeiband constituency.
Jyoti waikhom as president of the function urged the supporters to avoid outside influence in electing the leader of the constituency in the upcoming by election.
He said the coming by election is very important and crucial for the constituency.
He said the BJP has been misleading the public about bringing development.
He said we have a Congress government in the State and further urged the people to support the Congress candidate.
The reception function was also attended by congress office bearer and leaders of the constituency.
