IMPHAL, November 5: People should not forget the chaos created in the past by the BJP in the State, deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said during an election campaign in connection to the Thongju bye election at the Konok Khongnangkhong Community Hall today.
People, he said should be able to understand the difference between the Congress and the BJP.
Reiterating what he had said at a similar election campaign yesterday, Gaikhangam said the BJP will only distort the State’s boundary, instead of bringing any development.
Although several appeals have been made to the Centre to reveal the details of the framework agreement signed between the Centre and the NSCN (IM), the BJP led government has failed to do so, he said.
The BJP Manipur Pradesh has also never sought the details from the Centre in the interest of the people of Manipur, he said.
Asking the people to understand the difference between the Congress and the BJP, Gaikhangam further asked the people of Thongju to vote for the Congress candidate to bring development.
The bye-election is crucial as it can bring a change to the constituency, he observed.
If the Congress wins the bye-election, it will only mean strengthening the State integrity, whereas the BJP wants to destroy it, Gaikhangam observed.
The election campaign was also attended by Sugunu MLA Kangujam Ranjit, MLA Nambol N Loken and others.
