IMPHAL, November 8: A public meeting was organized by CARD, Wabagai at Wabagai Gram Panchayat Community Hall today around 2 pm and adopted certain resolutions regarding inclusion of parts of Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar with Hiyanglam Nagar Panchayat.
The meeting presided over by president of Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar Board unanimously resolved to maintain Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar under a single administration and not allow inclusion of parts of Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar with the formation of Hiyanglam Nagar Panchayat.
It also resolved that residents of Wabagai and its adjoining areas will thwart any attempt to disintegrate Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar for whatever reasons.
The gathering further resolved to endorse any steps taken by CARD, Wabagai, Wabagai Gram Panchayat and Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar Board in this regard and send copy of the resolutions adopted each to the concerned government departments.
Zilla Parishad Member Mayengbam Omilla Devi; retired headmaster of Yangbi Girls High School; Chongtham Thabijao Singh from Wabagai Thingel Liekai; Mayengbam Naran Singh from Wabagai Kadajit; ex-Zilla Parishad Member Moirangthem Shajou Meetei and Sorokhaibam Shyamkesho Singh from Wabagai Lamkhai attended the public meeting as presidium members.
