IMPHAL, Nov 8: Troops of the 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with Imphal West Police Commandos launched a joint operation in general area of Konthoujam and apprehended an active cadre of Naga National Council (NNC) on November 7, according to a press release of PRO IGAR (s).
It identified the apprehendee as No 1731, SS Lt Poujianiung Kamei, 25 son of Merthangam Kamei, of Marangjing, Tamenglong district. A mobile phone along with SIM card was recovered from his possession. The apprehendee along with recovered items has been handed over to the Patsoi Police Station, it said.
